Introduction

Live Near Your Work offers forgivable loans to eligible Washington University and BJC employees purchasing a home in one of these eligible neighborhoods:
Forest Park Southeast, Skinker-DeBaliviere, Northeast University City, DeBaliviere Place, West End, Parkview Gardens, Portion of the Central West End Northeast, Visitation Park, Academy, Fountain Park, Lewis Place, Vandeventer, and Hamilton Heights.

Eligible employees who purchase a home as a primary residence in a participating neighborhood will receive a forgivable loan to be used to pay either part of the down payment or closing cost on a home purchase. The loan amount will be $8,500 for all eligible neighborhoods, or $12,500 for the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For Washington University and WUMC employees, as of March 20, 2019 Live Near Your Work funding has been depleted for this fiscal year, and no loans will be given until July 1, 2019, except in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.

If you are a WU or WUMC employee and wish to utilize this program, your options are to purchase a home in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood only, or wait until the new budget is in place on July 1.

Please Note: This does not apply to BJC HealthCare employees, who may continue to utilize the program in all eligible neighborhoods.
